ANOTHER FATHER’S DAY SHOT

On Father’s day back in June of this year I took many shots that I feel are worthy of display to you all. I don’t want to post them all at once, but would rather sprinkle them to you over time to keep things fresh. I think that keeps our brains working to remember the places we were and conjure up the┬ámemories┬áthat we experienced at that time.

TODAY’S PHOTO – GARDEN AMONGST THE URBAN SKY SCRAPERS OF CHICAGO

Here’s another shot I recently processed from my recent trip to Chicago. This is in Millennium Park early on Father’s Day. That black tower in the back is the once named Sear’s Tower which was also the tallest building in the world for many years. I love that they have a botanical garden right in the middle of the downtown area amongst all of the huge buildings. The contrast of living matter and concrete is amazing to me.

Enjoy!

EARLY MORNING STROLL

Back in June on Father’s day I decided to be crazy and wake up at the crack of dawn to go downtown to do a personal photowalk. I figured it would be the only time of day that there weren’t a million people all over. And guess what? There was barely anyone on the streets.

TODAY’S PHOTO – THE BRIDGE IN MILLENNIUM PARK

This is the serpent looking bridge in the Millennium Park. In the distance you can make out the superstructure that holds the speakers for the stage area where they play live music. I really like the stainless steel and curves of this bridge and I think the floor is Teak wood which is really nice.

Enjoy!

BUSY FEW DAYS OFF IN CHICAGO

Well, it’s been almost a week since I posted something here. My family and I were visiting Chicago and celebrating my Grandfather’s 90th Birthday. A pretty special thing if you think about. Another thing that made it pretty special and interesting is that not only does my Grandfather have a twin sister, but she’s still around and they got to celebrate together. How often do you hear of that happening.

TODAY’S PHOTO – CLOUD GATE IN THE PARK

Well, for today’s photo a shot of the ‘Cloud Gate’ sculpture in Millennium Park in Chicago. Now, I shot this at about 6:15 in the morning of Father’s Day. I figured at that time of the morning downtown there wouldn’t be that many people around. And I was right! I’ve been to this Park a few times before but always with droves of tourists lurking around.

I bet you didn’t even know the real name of this sculpture. Everyone, probably world-wide calls it the ‘Bean’. I do as well, but I thought I’d name this one by it’s real name. I had processed this one in Chicago on our travels and after showing it to my now 90 year old Grandfather, he fell in love with this shot. He wants it blown up big and hanging on his wall next to his dining room. I might just have to oblige his wishes.
